Stay near Catseye Beach & the Resort Centre
For families with younger children, staying on the resort side of Hamilton Island puts many of the island's most popular family activities close to home. Catseye Beach is the island's main guest beach, with swimming and watersports, while the Resort Centre precinct is home to the Resort Pool, family-friendly Bougainvillea Pool, Beach Sports and the Clownfish Club.
HIHA's accommodation in this part of the island includes Lagoon Lodge, Frangipani Lodge, Hibiscus Apartments and Whitsunday Apartments, giving families options within easy walking distance of the beach and resort facilities. These properties sit on Hamilton Island's main beach which is walkable from the complex.
For families who would rather not rely on a buggy every time the kids want to swim or head to the beach, this is a particularly convenient part of the island to stay.
Stay near the Marina & Front Street
The Marina side offers a different kind of convenience. Front Street and Marina Village are home to restaurants and cafés, the IGA supermarket, pharmacy, retail shops, ferry terminal and other everyday island facilities, making this area particularly handy for families who like being able to walk out for breakfast, dinner, groceries or an ice cream.
HIHA has a range of apartments around this side and the nearby elevated precincts, including Yacht Club Villas, Edge Apartments, Casuarina Cove and Heliconia Grove.
This side can be particularly appealing to larger families and families who value space, self-contained living and easy access to dining and shopping.
Or choose a central location and enjoy both
Families don't necessarily need to choose one side over the other. Poinciana Lodge or Yacht Harbour Tower 4 are close to both the Marina and Resort areas.
And because Hamilton Island is compact and largely car-free, a buggy makes it easy to move between the different precincts. Hamilton Island also operates a complimentary island shuttle between the Resort Centre and Marina Village.
